Y’all. It’s so crazy how things come full circle!!
I met Chloe while I was in high school – I babysat Chloe and her twin brother!!
Her amazing mom was our Student Council president, and I spent many, many hours with her mom throughout high school! I was Class President for several years, and then School President our Senior Year, and Mrs. Susan worked hand-in-hand with me, guiding us all in school leadership in so many ways. She’s one of the teachers that made the biggest impact on my life – who I am today – and so naturally, when Chloe reached out, you can imagine I literally squealed with excitement!!
Seeing her ALL grown up – AND engaged – was SUCH an experience!!
I had the pleasure of meeting her fiance Jake on location. He’s now an Engineer in Arizona, and she’s based in Tennessee – BUT here’s the thing:
So, naturally, this location meant so much to Chloe, and I was so excited to hear #allthestories from their adventuring days!
I’ve never traveled so safely in my life – haha!!! After quarantine was lifted, we made this trip so quickly with minimal contact with people, places and things! Joey took off a day from work so he could travel with me, and I’ve never had such a sanitized trip – haha!!
We were super strategic about our two stops on the drive to Mississippi. Luckily, our sunrise session at MSU was greeted with a BEAUTIFUL sunrise and not many people on campus, which made for quite an amazing Engagement session!
I met Jake, Chloe’s fiance, on location. This is quite normal for many shoots, and I always ask lots of questions to get to know my couples more like family.
As I shot this pink rose shot below, I distinctly remember that Chloe was changing outfits, and I casually asked Jake when and where he proposed.
“Rome.”
“You mean, Rome, Georgia?”
He chuckled. “Rome, Italy.”
I obviously looked up from my tunnel-vision-lens and blinked at him.
“You proposed in ITALY?!”
He laughed.
I remind you, I JUST met this guy not 20 minutes before!! He’s already proving to be QUITE the Groom!!!!
As we walked on the dewey grass, I loved hearing every minute of his story of his MSU Graduation cruise to Europe. He obviously included Chloe, and he proposed at the Terrazza del Pincio, which overlooks the metropolitan city of Rome! Can you even IMAGINE?!?!!
