This is Part 1 of my new series: The Encouragement Series.
Today is our 19th day in quarantine.
Nineteen days of staying home to stay safe.
2. Read positive, hopeful, motivating words every day. Hop on Pinterest. Hit up your devotional. Positivity is everywhere – we just have to be proactive and find it.
3. Look at accounts and posts on social that offer words of affirmation and happiness.
4. Try to find some ways to enjoy the downtime. Spend some extra time with your kiddos or dog. Go for a morning walk. Call your Grandma. Call your BFF. Read that BOOK that’s been sitting on the shelf for a year.
5. SLEEP IN, Sister!! This can have PROFOUND effects on your mental well being, physical health, and your immune system. Look it up! Don’t write off good sleep.
6. Find things that bring you happiness and pursue what you can from home.
7. Make a list of things you’ve “not had time to do.” Pick a few and do them. For me, that’s calligraphy, reflexology, watercolor painting & deep cleaning my house (and trying to learn to enjoy it!!)
8. GET PLENTY OF SUNSHINE! Sit by a window if you can’t go outside. It’s hot here in Florida with sand gnats and mosquitoes, but we’re trying to get outside as much as possible. We bought the kiddos a simple little blow-up pool, building our chicken coop and starting our annual family garden together.
9. Don’t obsess, but do keep current with the news, guidelines and recommendations. I set up alerts to our local news app so I can hear the latest updates on test distribution, social distancing recommendations and other important updates for my family. This is an unprecedented situation, and I like to learn what’s going on along and along so I can make the best decisions FAST for my family and friends should one of us become affected in one way or another.
10. Just RELAX with your fam, pets, doing something you love at home or in the backyard.
11. Take time to clean your house. I have a newfound motivation to get and keep my house as clean as possible! Here’s a great video on sanitizing your house during this time! (Also linked below!)
12. Start journaling. Listen to Nancy Ray’s Podcast for more info on this! I never journaled before listening to her take!
I hope these provide some ideas on keeping your mental state as healthy as possible!!
Remember, this will end. Sending much love and encouragement for you during this time! I hope to see you next time!
xoxo
