Meet Kate!

Our new Associate Photographer!

Y’all. Kate is pretty amazing … if I do say so myself. She’s one of the two Associate Photographers that I’ve been training all summer long! Training for this type of position is long and tedious – it requires a LOT of dedication (especially learning all she has in only a few short months).

I was very nervous about growing our team. It’s always a risk and a very large time investment, and it has made for a very busy summer for me & Kate.

My Decision to Hire

I remember making the decision to expand, and how I just KNEW that’s what I had to do if my biz were to stay open. This business helps support my girls – my family – our income. It’s important to me. But I couldn’t carry the load on my own AND be a good mom AND be a good wife AND grocery shop AND have a minute AND actually have a Date with J on his rare days off. I just couldn’t. The girls ages have entered us a busy season at ‘big’ school, and from the beginning I’ve wanted the freedom to go to any school events, Easter Egg Hunts, host sleepovers, have playdates and MAINLY be there for them – anytime they need me.

To be honest, I didn’t know how things were going to go with the hiring process. I was very scared. I remember sitting with J in our bed one night in our half-decorated new bedroom – doubtingly looking over at Joey and saying, “What if no one even applies?!” Ha! That was my worst fear.. LOL! I kept reading Jesus Calling and remembering who is REALLY in control- and I prayed the Lord would send the perfect fit.

And then He did.

We got SO many AMAZING applicants!!!! SO. MANY. God is so good!

Oh how things have changed since that day!

Looking back now, and watching how Kate has TRULY embodied love toward my clients, cared for them as if they were her own family, and loved on them, I am SO GLAD & I have NO hesitation sharing all about how confident I am in her to run with this part of my business!

And to clarify….

I will still be shooting everything I’ve been shooting.

Nothing will change there! Having Kate added to our team is simply an expansion in the business. An intentional, slow, well-thought-out, expansion, but still just an expansion. I’m not going anywhere (as some of you have asked! Haha!)

Kate’s already booked events and sessions on dates that I am unavailable for. I am only one person, I can only shoot so much 😉 and I have two amazing little girls that I don’t want to miss out on growing up! So that means I can’t shoot every weeknight and every weekend.

A New Price Point

All of Kate’s Family & Children’s Sessions have a lower rate than directly working with me, Rebecca. Her flat rate is simple: $250. This includes a 30 minute session & 10 Digital Files delivered in an online gallery. (She is not offering in-person sales or viewings at this time.) A non-refundable deposit of $75 is required to book a session with her. Her calendar is available online HERE:

She’s your girl ESPECIALLY if you have a little one (or several!), and would like routine, updated photos!!

Quality

Kate will be literally be shooting with the same type of gear as I do. Same full-frame camera body as I have, same high-quality lenses.

I’ve personally worked with her hours on end and shadowed sessions with her to make SURE she’s providing a true RVP experience for our clients.

She has been literally given a crash course of babies, toddlers, siblings & families and has impressed me every step of the way. She is a natural fit.

Here are a few fun facts about Kate!

-Kate loves sweet tea, Chick-fil-a, & Maple Bacon Donuts from Johnson’s Bakery
-She’s a Chi Omega (like Mama Sara!!)
-She’s a Georgia peach at heart and is an Enneagram 7 (Enthusiast…so fitting!)
-She’s from a military family, and has moved 11 times (all over the country) in the last 13 years! She just moved here last year from New Mexico!
-She loves going to concerts & traveling!
-Attends Valdosta State and is majoring in Psychology!
-She specializes in children & families! She’s obsessed with little babies, and her heart for Special Needs children is so huge, and she’s even more passionate about working with special needs children because of her sweet younger brother who has Autism & Epilepsy.
-We’ve been training ALL summer long, and I’m SO excited to announce that she’ll be booking children & family sessions beginning August 20th!!
